In less than 24 hours, I’ll be departing Glasgow airport flying to Dublin. Around 1500, Sunday, I depart Dublin for Miami. Arrival time in Miami around 1930 EST.
Monday morning, 0630 EST, I will be at the airport gate. I expect to build the BZIM’s wing, attach it, load and secure all my belongings ready for Roberts Air South FBO opening. The FAA officer dealing with my approval has already dropped the approval off to Roberts Air South. So, “I am good to go”, once I have the document in my possession. Again, my thanks to Mr John and Diane Roberts for their help, and to Mr Davies for ‘squeezing’ the BZIM in. I hope I wasn’t too much of a distraction 🙂 Also, a shout out the Homestead Airport Operations Manager, who’s name escapes me. Someone full of enthusiasm for aviation and ‘anything to do with the old country’ 😉
So, Monday morning, hopefully before 1000 EST, I will depart Homestead General Aviation airport (X51), making my way to the SunNFun fly-in, Paradise City at Lakeland airport.

60hr out forecast for Monday 9th
If conditions allow, plan is to head for Miami Beach to get a photo of the BZIM with Miami’s skyscraper background in the shot. Then it’s back inland following the I75 or Alligator Alley to Everglades City (X01). Lunch there, then depending on the weather, follow the coast to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, land at Manatee airport (48X) to load up with fuel for SunNFun, arriving late afternoon, early Monday evening.

X51 to X01 to 48X to LAL
If weather is an issue on the coast, routing from Everglade City will be via Arcadia Municiple airport (X06) where camping overnight is possible.
Monday > Thursday it’s camping under the wing at SunNFun
